Snide was originally formed in the summer of 2006 by Nobby when he was living in Spain, as a 'two finger' gesture to the terrible 'music scene' of karaoke, Elvis tributes and one man and his guitar with backing tracks, that the ex-pat community were fed and accepted. Along with the original line up of Dan, Squeak and Ken, they played a set of classic punk covers, including the Sex Pistols, Rancid and Generation X, to name a few.

Despite public acclaim, not many local 'ex-pat' bars would risk putting on a 'scary' punk band, the band became frustrated with the limited opportunities in playing, so the direction of Snide soon changed.

Dan and Nobby soon began to write their own material and looked to play concerts all over Spain, including Gibraltar and the Klub 100 in Crevellente.

Ken and Squeak left shortly after the decision to play only originals, as they could not commit to the heavy work-load that Snide would soon embark upon. A number of drummers were auditioned, joined and left.

Eventually, a suitable and enthusiastic drummer was found in Dani and frantic rehearsals soon followed so the band could honour all booked gigs. One of Snides' highlights came, when in March 2008, they played to a packed crowd at The Dragon festival in Grananda.

In May 2008, Dan decided that he no longer wished to commit his time to touring and gigging, and left the band.

Disillusioned with Spain, Nobby returned to the UK in January 2009, and the search began for the next chapter in the life of Snide.

Rehearsals with the new line up have recently begun, and the signs are that Snide will be up your street, down your alley and in your face very soon...better than ever!
